I am so excited…I looked in the garden last week and low and behold! There they were! When I looked them up in the gardening book I have, they said “they are a challenge to grow”… In talking to others, I am the only one I know that has had any success with them. What are they? Read on…
That’s right! There they were! All four cauliflower plants turned into lovely cauliflowers. I was just so excitied. No one expected them to work out. You could see that look and with comments like “well, don’t worry if they don’t come up, they’re hard to grow” and then I heard “I’ve never had any success with those — don’t worry, it’s alright” and further I heard “here these are but they ‘might’ turn out okay”…
Anyway, we shared two with Kevin and Janet (who gave us the plants) and we cooked and ate one on Sunday (and yes we had more than enough for four people) and froze most of one (other than what we ate) yesterday! That way we can have one with our Christmas dinner. Yippee!!
I’m so pleased!

Congratulations on the cauliflower! We have never been able to grow any that were worth a hoot. Indeed, they are difficult, or at least they have been for us. Of course, you also had a good crop of your Scarlet Runner Beans. Mine still have lots of flowers, which the hummingbirds love, but not a bean on them yet!
Congratulations on your award from Mary!

As I’ve said privately… thanks Mary (Merri) for the award! I’m so proud of it. And as for my cauliflower, it will likely never happen again when I plant more. I do think I cheated a bit since I have raised beds and they are covered with netting.
